FAQ's about the centre
Q: The Centre sounds great but I don't live in Palmerston North. Is there anything like this near me?
A: The Amitabha Centre has regular branch classes in six other centres and we also have students who study by correspondence.
Most of our branch classes evolved from requests from local people, so please call Gen Demo if you think a class in your area would be possible. There are Kadampa Buddhist centres in Wellington, Auckland and Chistchurch. We hope you will find classes near you.
Q: I'd like to help the Centre, by donating my time and skills. How can I do this?
A: The centre runs entirely on voluntary effort. We'd be delighted with any contribution that you can make - from routine office work to cleaning duties to delivering leaflets and posters. There is always something that you can do to help. Please just ask Gen Demo.
And of course as a voluntary organisation we welcome and treasure the special skills that you are able to bring to the centre.
Q: What about material help?
A: We accept donations for specific projects, such as buying copies of Dharma books and CDs for the students Gen Demo teaches in prisons, donations to help cover the costs of Demo attending International Teacher Training and Kadampa Festivals in Europe (Demo's Wings Fund), or funds to improve centre facilities for classes and for out of town groups who stay at the centre from time to time.
You may also be able to donate goods or petrol vouchers - just ask.

Q: I'd like to live in a Dharma Centre. Do you have any space for residents?
A: At present we do not have space for permanent residents, but we have the potential for short stays. If you would like to discuss staying at the centre, please contact Rae Horton 021 2327304.
