weekly classes and meditations

We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to attend our programme of regular drop-in meditation classes which are held in Palmerston North (at theAmitabha Centre and at the hospital), DannevirkeLevinNew Plymouth, and Whanganui. We also have a weekly schedule of prayers and meditations at the Amitabha centre (in Palmerston North), with special Prayers for World Peace every month on Sundays.

The classes are self-contained so you can drop-in for an individual class or come to a whole series. There is no need to book or bring anything, and the classes are suitable for both beginners and those with some experience of meditation. Each class includes guided meditations, teachings and discussion, followed by a chance to stay for refreshments and converstation. We ask for a donation of $12 (or affordable contribution).

Prayers for World Peace includes a short teaching and guided meditations to help us develop our own sense of inner peace. This is a family-friendly class and everyone is welcome. There is no cost - though donations are welcomed.

The chanted prayers and meditations provide an opportunity to learn more about Buddhist practice - and can be a very peaceful way to start or end your day. There is no cost for these sessions.

In addition to the regular weekly meditation classes, we also have a series of half-day and full-day courses courses running through the year). Or if you are interested in more in-depth study of Buddhist practice, you might like to consider joining the study programme (available inPalmerston North and Whanganui).

If you have any questions at all about the centre, our programmes or Kadampa Buddhism, please don't hesitate to telephone (06 355 3524) or, if you are in Palmerston North, call by the centre at 174 Albert Street (there is usually someone there!).
