ABOUT THIS EVENT
Do you ever feel overly self critical? Don’t we all feel like that sometimes? Why is that we identify more with our limitations than with our good qualities. Our habit of criticising ourself disturbs our peace of mind and holds us back from being the person we want to be and prevents us from living the life we really want to live.
We can learn to recognise this inner critic in our life and relationships and discover through meditation how to let go of this painful habit.
At this inspiring evening talk, international guest teacher and Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Rabten will present practical and effective techniques and ways of thinking that enable us to become happier, more content and comfortable in our life.
THE TEACHER
Gen Kelsang Rabten is an internationally renowned teacher and Kadampa Buddhist monk and the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director of Kadampa Buddhism for New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia. He has studied and taught modern Kadampa Buddhism for more than 27 years. He is much loved for his insight, humour and practical explanations of meditation and Buddhism.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This talk is based on Buddha’s teachings on the mind, but you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend, or to benefit from them. There is no physical exercise involved (we will sit on chairs). Everyone welcome.
